I’d recommend everyone get to grips with it, since it’s a powerful piece of software. Yes – it has some presets which are often over-used, but considering the ability to put together your own sounds so quickly, it’s easy to forget that the “brutal electro” setting even exists.

So with that in mind, I’d like to present “NI Massive Complete” – a comprehensive two and a half hour video tutorial (split in to sections, don’t worry) that covers everything you could possibly want to know about massive, from the basics, through routing, sound shaping, sequencing, effects to bringin it all together.

It’s not something that I’ve seen in this format before, and it’s certainly got the potential to give you a good solid grounding in the synth, as well as give you a great basis to use other synths from too.

The videos are in HD, and are also mobile friendly if you’re on the move and the whole thing is a very affordable $37 – considerably less than you’d pay for two hours of an expert’s time to take you through the synth.

Seriously though – you might want to check them out anyway, you might learn something. Massivesynth.com is actually a particularly useful blog for learning about the VST synth. I would much sooner push the dub-techno patches though.
