This mix from me was one I dubbed as the “as heavy as I go” mix – since it’s fairly bass heavy and half-steppy, compared with what people might expect from my sets, if they’ve heard my album. Anyways, I looked out a set of weighty half-step tracks that felt “right” for the mix.

DJG – Voids 1 & 2 – 2 new EPs [Pay what you like!]

DJG is a producer who I’ve grown to like more and ore over the past couple of years with his tracks making now very regular appearances in my DJ sets.

He has just released 2 generously sized EPs through Bandcamp on a “pay what you like” system. it’s a payment system made popular by Radiohead, but more recently has been popular with a lot of independent artists and smaller labels.

In his own words, Dean says “…the majority of these songs have been pulled from various labels and projects over the last three years, for one reason or another. Nearly all of them have been supported by some of the biggest DJs in dubstep. All these songs were written over the last three years, with ‘Doodlebug’ being the oldest (2007) and ‘BC3’ the most recent (about two months ago). These are just songs I still love and feel connected to, and strongly believe in.”

I’d suggest you all go and listen to the tracks, then sort him out with some generous dollar in exchange for some bloody excellent music.
