Ak0pian – Fields Of Fortune EP [Broken Bubble]

Broken Bubble have been churning out material since their inception in 2011, and it seems that they continue to go from strength to strength. Their latest forthcoming EP is from Italian producer Ak0pian who had previousl released on Echodub as well as Gamma Audio and Idletone.

In Broken Bubble’s words:

Here you’ll find melancholic and reflective leads drifting over shimmering ambient soundscapes, propelled throughout by gently funked-out basslines and delicately minimal garage rhythms. Chillstep is an appropriate tag to use, but these tunes have the invention and emotional resonance to really stand out from the pack.

The 6 originals are accompanied by a euphoric dancefloor re-interpretation from Fedbymachines and a slow house groover by label boss Cogidubnus.”

I love dub-techno. I love the meditative effect it has, and how it allows me to zone out. I love that it has techno thuds, but ambient atmospherics. I also love dubstep. I love the half-step, the synths, the space in the mix and the percussion. Ak0pian has successfuly meshed both of these styles, with his own twist and nailed a great EP for Echodub.

Ak0pian is fresh and talented Italian producer Greg Gaddoni. Signed up for Echodub’s 15th release, Ak0pian has delivered 4 simply outstanding tracks.

Producing sounds that effortlessly mesh dub, and techno sounds with dubstep and bass-music sensibilities, this EP really highlights Greg’s ear for deep synths, crisp beats and emotion.

Take a deep breath for this one.

Silverback Recordings are on the verge of releasing Jack Dixon’s first EP, and let me tell you it’s well worth listening to. If you like your beats crisp, well constructed, emotional and melodic – Jack is your man.

I have no doubt in my mind that Jacks work is going to be hugely successful. His command of style and finesse is most definitely going to do him some serious favours, and with forthcoming releases on Echodub and Formant, I’d put money on 2011 being the year he steps up and dominates.
