Silent Season is a label I have been aware of for some time, and it would seem that their continuous dedication to high quality output has allowed them to continually sell-out of each release. I expect their next release to be no exception.

Well orchestrated and truly enveloping beautiful ambient works. Some with subtle rhythmic patterns, some just duly floating on their own momentum. This is most definitely meditative, relaxing, deep thought music. I find it especially great for working to, since it enhances my concentration, and allows me to really think clearly.

DFRNT – Winter Music Mix

Done as one of the 24 Advent Calendar mixes for the German blog Kraftfuttermischwerk, I put this mix together and it went live on the 18th.

It’s a super-deep mix of dub-techno and dubstep from about 110 to 140 bpm. I’m all about the dub-techno in Winter. It always just seems so appropriate.

Having just returned from the USA to knee-deep snow, I felt it would be worthwhile to post some dub-techno to fit with the wintery landscapes. There’s nothing more fitting for a snow covered outlook.

So I present to you Quantec’s new EP “Force Vive” containing 3 lush tracks that fit perfectly with his sound, and with the winter. I can’t get enough of Sven’s work – and it’s also worth mentioning at this stage that Modus magazine is about to release the first issue – containing a great interview with the man himself.

Isotroph – Eclosion EP [F4T Records F4T13]

F4T Records are venturing in to deep dub-techno territory with their thirteenth release. The Eclosion EP, by Isotroph is an excellent example of deep, swirling, eveloping dub-techno.

After The Moon is an absolutely epic track, starting from almost nothing and building to a pulsing heartbeat.

Biotope takes a more techno/house based approach, but is equally satisfying when that beat kicks in.

Genese sits with Biotope as a more techno led number. The bass takes more of a front-row on this one, as it pushed the track towards a driving climax.
