MK2 & Mr Curtamos – Bringit Back

The other evening I was very kindly sent a couple of dubs from a producer based over in Georgia who goes by the name of MK2. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that he had collaborated with a producer by the name of “Mr Curtamos” who had previously worked on a remix of Santogold which I had very much enjoyed.

So here I am, listening to a collaboration of his with the aforementioned MK2, and let me tell you… It’s a belter.

The track is called “Bringit Back”.

It all starts with a fairly relaxed vibe – a strong beat, and just before the whole thing takes off, this ascending synth goes from sub levels to high and takes the atmosphere right up.

The drop is this wubbed-out dub, playing 1-2 with a rather filthy saw in an almost marching beat. The synths are brought back in, later in the track, and aside from the occasional slightly out of tune bass-wub sneaking through, the whole thing is a rather solid track. One which I’d definitely consider playing out. The drop would be worth it alone I reckon.

I can’t find the track online anywhere sadly, however you can check both of these producers on the MySpace links at the top of the post. I’d reccomend MK2’s chilled remix of ‘Telepopmusik’s “Breathe” for starters.
