Since Autopilot’s going to be one of the talented producers I’m selecting for the forthcoming Echodub Loves compilation, I felt it would be a good idea to mention his fresh new free EP!
Step Down is a collection of 8 tracks, which I’d describe as deep and synthy with clear influence from IDM a sprinkling of glitch and some excellent compressed crunchiness.
Sines very kindly let me hear a number of his tracks the other day – and to be quite honest with you I’m blown away by his talent. He has a fantastic ability to take some warm synths, pads or some classic tones and craft them in to a great track. His ear for a melody and samples makes his productions stand out among those working at the smoother, deeper end of the spectrum and I expect he will be one of the key players as both the ’scene’ and sound of dubstep progress.
He’s already working hard behind the scenes at Formant Recordings, and has recently joined the ranks at Echodub. You can find out more about Sines from his MySpace.

22 year old Liverpudlian “Absense” has just caught my attention in a big way. His track “All I Do” is the reason why.
It’s a simple vocal, shrouded somewhere in the midst of some smooth organ pads, and a gorgeous drum pattern. The track has the warmth of Summer, with the echoing simplistic sparseness of Winter, and instead of opting for any crazy basslines, or stop-start stutter rhythms to jarr the potential punters in to dancing, this very much invites people to just chill.
And chill, I will.
I suggest you check this out immediately. I’ve had it on repeat for half an hour now at least.
Check out “Part of Me” – the sample in the MySpace player.
I’ve just fallen in love with this track. The reversed synths, the cheeky synth stabs on the loop, and the whole feel of the sounds involved. It’s lush, dubby and still a proper rolling track. Amazing stuff. I don’t have much more to say about this. No release info, no further track info from the producer yet – but I’ll get on it, and see what I can dig up for you!
I’m not going to make a big thing of this, because I have done elsewhere – so I’ll just gently nudge you in the direction of the promo site – and hope that you’ve got the sense to do yourself a favour and take a listen!!
