Mr Wesley has certainly been busy since we last featured him on SittingOvation. With a number of other releases out on Arctic Dub he’s been working hard to bring us all that sweet dub-ambient and dub-techo sound.

His latest EP “Merkaba Sessions Alpha” is available on Bandcamp right now, and I have to say I’m still as impressed now as I was a year back when I first came across his stuff.

It’s always refreshing to see labels doing things a little differently, and so the first thing to catch my eye about Deeper-Level was their format. Although not original, it’s certainly refreshing and not a common occurance (as far as I’m concerned) to see releases go out on nice little packaged SD cards.

As far as the release is concerned – I was sold from the outset. The general gist is dub-techno, but it’s more than just your general wash of beats with a next-door thud below them. There’s a good variation of sounds on here from the dubbed-out glaze of Optic, to the slightly more glitched up zzzzra, or the slightly more full-on Area & Mikkel Meyer opener.

All in all, it’s a nice little collection, and when it comes in such a lovely package, you can’t really say no to something like that.

Worst comes to worst, you get yourself a spangly 1Gig SD card for your dosh.

As a result of this, he’s been working hard on some patches for Native Instrument’s behemoth “Massive”.

Each of the patches has a different dub-techno styled synth sound, with macro controlled iterations on each loop. Each patches is separate by a clave. To get them, all you need to do is buy the track he created to demonstrate their use.

Watch out for those beautiful dubby synths in the breakdowns (and the intro) – This one is fairly progressive too – a nice big driving drumloop and bassline keep this one a little more dencefloor orientated.

Having moved quite swiftly from dark, driving progressive house to the sweeping filtered white-noise of dub-techno, Steve Foulds has shown us that his production ability is second to none.

Four tracks of filtered ambience, set to tight percussion, with a nice variety of dubby swooshes, and all those nice touches that make the sub-genre so enjoyable (for me anyway).

I’m aware of Steve’s pre dub-techno explorations in to progressive house, and have always admired his ability to craft a good drumloop, and bass pattern, so it’s great to see him developing his style and I can really only expect more top tracks to come.

There are rumors of a vinyl release for this EP – but for now, you should go buy it from his Bandcamp page. As well as getting four amazing tracks, you’ll be able to say “i got there first” when his tracks skyrocket in popularity too!

Firstly, you can get his new Rotational EP here – which contains tracks which are, in his own words “Noisy, hissy, chords driven, deep, dubby techno [and] perfectly matching these melancholic end of summer nights.”

The best bit is – if you buy the album, as thanks for your support, Leo is planning to send our a samplepack of loops, hits, chords and so on – taken from the EP tracks, along with some words from the man himself about how he created the dubby samples from scratch!

And so continuing their array of excellent releases, ZeECc records have once again produced what might be their deepest release yet.

Grad_U and Mr. Cloudy take the helm on this one for more of that familiar, yet new deep dubby goodness.

I struggle to find fault with this incredible collection of dub-techno. From the outset I was hooked. I can’t recommend this enough – and what’s more it’s free!

Sure – it’s not brand new, but some of the best music can take that little while longer to discover.
